The Portable Baptistry

It measures 34 by 36.5 by 70.125 inches and fits through a standard three-foot doorway. You fill it with a garden hose in about ten minutes, and the 1,000-watt heater brings it to 100 degrees in three to four hours depending on your starting water temperature. The thermostat holds between 96 and 102 degrees.
It holds one candidate, and the narrow design keeps the minister dry on the outside. An ozone purification system keeps the water cleaner with minimal chemical use, and chemicals only come into play if the water sits longer than four days. The built-in baptistry is designed to be installed permanently or semi-permanently. The open-frame construction lets you sink it flush with the floor or add siding that matches the room it sits in.
It holds 400 gallons. A 4,000-watt flow-through heater runs on a 30-amp, 220-volt system, with a 20-amp, 110-volt configuration available on request. Set the thermostat and walk away. Spray foam insulation and a pressure-treated frame hold the heat, and the included vinyl insulating cover does the rest.
The dry-well design means only the person being baptized gets wet. Twenty-four hour circulation and ozone purification reduce chemical use and, in most cases, keep that pool smell out of your worship space entirely. Drainage lines come pre-installed, the fill line arrives with a backflow preventer already fitted, and there’s a built-in overflow system. The filter and skimmer are easy to reach. A white underwater light is standard, and the switch can be mounted in more than one location so it lands where your minister actually needs it.
One thing worth knowing before you plan: stainless steel handrails are no longer an available feature.

Five Things to Check Before You Choose
- Power at the spot. Not power in the building. Power where the baptistry will actually sit. A portable unit needs a standard outlet. A built-in unit needs a 30-amp, 220-volt circuit unless you request the 110-volt configuration.
- The path in. Measure your narrowest doorway and any turn between the door and the room. A portable baptistry clears a standard three-foot door, but a tight corner can still stop it.
- Floor and drainage. Where does the water go when you’re done, and can you reach it with a garden hose?
- Frequency. Monthly baptisms justify a permanent installation. Four a year usually don’t.
