A Royal Spa hot tub is a great place to kick back and relax. We all know that! The soothing jets and warm water melt away the stress from your day-to-day life. But did you know you can also use your hot tub for exercise?
The warm and buoyant water of your hot tub is perfect for low impact exercises. Try these 5 hot tub exercises the next time you’re in your spa to get fit and relax all at the same time.
1. Shoulder Rolls
This is one of the easiest exercises to do in your hot tub and it’s a great way to start your routine. Simply sit in the spa and slowly roll your shoulders forward. Hold for 3-5 seconds and then roll backward. Repeat this process 5 times.
2. Bicycle Kicks
Your Royal Spa already makes the best bubbles, but wouldn’t you like to make some of your own? This workout lets you do just that!
Sit on the edge of one of the hot tub’s seats and support yourself by holding on to a rail or edge of the spa. Lift your legs and pedal as if you’re riding a bicycle. Do this for 30 seconds and work your way up to a full minute.
3. Arm Circles
With your arms partially submerged, extend them fully out like airplane wings. Slowly lift out of the water and rotate forward. After 5 completed forward rotations, do 5 in reverse. Do 3 sets of these and you’ll be feeling the burn!
4. Torso Rotations
Kneel on the floor of your hot tub and straighten your back. Place your hands on your hips, tighten your abdominal muscles, and rotate from side to side.
5. Thigh Presses
Sit down in the tub and push your knees together. Apply resistance to both knees using your hands and slowly open to work both your inner and outer thigh muscles. Do 3 sets of these.
As with any exercise routine, never do anything you don’t feel comfortable with. If you have concerns about your ability, be sure to consult with your doctor before attempting any exercise.
